Melanie offers workshops with a variety of themes including:

  • journaling
  • poetry writing
  • accessing your imagination
  • developing self-awareness through creative work

Consider Melanie for a group or 3 to 7 individuals.

Melanie also works with individuals (youth, adults and seniors) offering sessions customized to specific needs and abilities

Youth:

Melanie would meet with a child (in the parent’s presence) once a week for an hour over a 5 week period to help the child use his/her imagination in fun and constructive ways.  In this time of concern with excess screen use (TV, computers and games) the child is encouraged to create from his/her own imagination and lived experience using a variety of materials.

Adults:

In a small group of 3 to 7, Melanie offers 1 to 3 two-hour sessions to help people remove blocks to self-expression and allow creativity to flow giving expression to voice, poetry, drama, journaling and more.

Seniors

Melanie will meet with a small group of seniors in a similar way described  above offering gentle stimulating activities customized for the interests and abilities of the group.  She aims to enhance quality of life in the older years, helping to keep the mind alert and having fun.

OR

Melanie will meet with a senior living in a retirement home, lodge or nursing home once or twice a week for 1 1/2 hours adapting games and other fun activities and creative expression to the needs and abilities of the person.  This approach may help find ways to communicate and connect even when challenged by age and/or illness.

Melanie offers these opportunities in Owen Sound at the following rates:

Individual sessions for all age groups:  $25 per hour

Group workshops all ages, 3-7 people for 2 hours: $75 per session

Individual work with seniors in a facility: $25 for 1 1/2 hrs

Leading with Wisdom and Spirit: Nov 4, 11, 25

January 16, 2008

Fall 2008: Nov 4, 11 and 25 eveings.

This module will focus on leading in a variety of different situations.  I am excited to share with you a Values-Centred Leadership model I learned when working with Lance Secretan. After exploring the basics of the model, you will have the opportunity to apply it to one or more aspects of your work. We will include identifying your values mostly by examining what you actually do as an expression of them.

Bringing spirit to your leadership includes identifying and applying what you already know to the leadership roles you play. As you become more familiar with the concepts of Leading with Spirit and Wisdom you will bring your own personalized dimension to the model. Within the model, you will explore the “shadow” in your own personality as well as limiting beliefs and other common issues that are a barrier to success. The work you do in this unit can be used in a variety of situations in your life.

To register, contact me and send a non refundable deposit for $75 payable to Marie Knapp.  The rest is due the first evening of class.
